i am not ready… remaking the blog to be static md instead.
this was ditched because
- my db which connected to phone app broke, domain update perma-broke it. i never bothered fixing
- the summer was mostly rain and grey skies. no motivation.
anyways
i need to:
- buy seeds, flowers, fruit plants
- clean seed trays, pots, propagator trays
- buy new propagator, potting soil
- finish this site, update it more often
- plot 2023 data somewhere..
>>8 says the tomatos were 3 weeks too early. according to the db it was feb 25th
need to decide if i can trust my old selfs judgement..
if its poor weather, theyll need more time.
also a few days ago i sowed my chinese mustard greens. and the huazontle grew really fast but still hasnt flowered.
and the melons look alright.
THIS SUMMER HAS SUCKED
ONLY RAIN. NO SUN. ONLY DARK SKY.
i repotted the tomatos and had them come in and out each day. theyre doing fine. the compost this year sucks.
spinach was removed yesterday and replaced with runner beans.
the chilis have small flowers.
butternut squashes: 2 outdoor ones (2 dif varieties) both remain quite small, vs the spare, which i put in a bucket in the greenhouse. the first has a couple of fruits on it though
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
the tomatos are at least 3 weeks too early.
theyre too large in their pots. but there’s frost next week so they can’t be planted outside yet.
ill remember this for next time
red lettuce died. it was too long in its tiny module. planted some more directly. along with another variety nearby.
apparently you arent supposed to plant leeks outside until theyre tall and sturdy…
planted 20 pots of sunflowers yesterday. the seeds were saved from one of the old sunflowers from last year. most of them became moldy because of how wet it was, but the seeds i saved were the ones that felt solid. i put 2 per pot just to be safe, and ive got more seeds than i can use anyway.
planted some potatoes, first early “swift” variety.
its too early because the frost is all around, but they’ll be safe deep underground for a few weeks.
by the time they reach the surface the frost will be gone.
..i hope
the squashies have been separated.
they look happy in their new (temporary) homes
yesterday i removed the brussels because they were seedtray neighbours with chillies. one requires tons of heat and the other will go leggy with heat.. sorry brussels.
the chilis havent germanated yet either
two of the old butternut squashes i planted 2 weeks ago actually germinated !!!!!!!!!!!!!
it was hidden behind something on the windowsill and i totalyl forgot about it.. i was watering the lifeless pots every now and then.. but now theres 2 seedlings out of nowhere amazing
this is a cooler idea than blog articles which im too stupid to write
